We all see things from time to time that leave us scratching our head, make our jaw drop or our eyes widen as we ask ourselves “Why?” or “What”. We all have different tastes, and each of us sees life through different coloured lenses – different strokes for different folks, I guess! I thought I’d kick off here with a video. A Monkey in love with a cat. It’s different. If you like animals, I think you’ll like this one. If not, read on anyway and check out the pics below instead…(Click The Monkey Loves the Cat to watch the video)
People Watching Again!
I people-watch pretty much every day and almost everywhere I go. But you already know that – I’ve written about that skill in previous blogs! Yes, I sum people up (or make assumptions – and often with frighteningly accurate precision) based on what I see – after all, that’s all we have to go on in the First Impressions game, isn’t it? We all do it, you know, whether we know it/admit or not. We judge people on their clothing choices, the way the stand, walk, smile or don’t smile, interact with others, even just how they make us feel when we meet them. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t sometimes make inaccurate or unfair judgements as well. I may be good at Styling and Image management but that doesn’t mean I get it right all of the time either!
Let’s play “what’s their story” for a bit shall we? Here are some photos that I’d like you to comment on. Tell me what you think about the person in the picture – your first impression of them. What do they do for a living? How old are they? Where do they live? Any thoughts that immediately jump into your head. Let’s see how similar or different everyone’s ideas are? Here goes…
Great legs! Frilly pink sox though?…hmmm….Seems to be browsing the kid’s section – perhaps he stole his daughter’s clothes too?
Yes, this IS her back…I’m sure it wouldn’t look quite this way if she untied the fabric pulling her straps together?
What the?
Now that’s what I call “confidence +++”! Or perhaps she just finished her shift at the strip club and raced in to quickly get milk before the store closed?
Adios Amigos!
I’m off to Hong Kong in the morning – can’t wait! I am sure I will be doing my share of People Watching there – oh, OK! And a bit of shopping thrown in for good measure. I wonder if I’ll be able to come up with any pics even better than the “things that make you go…hmmm” above?! Aaah, me thinks I’ve just set myself a challenge! Bring it on!!!
Big Al x
