Who doesn't love online shopping?!

I have a few things I’d like to get off my chest. It’s about fashion. Online shopping to be exact. Please bare with me as I do so,  and keep in mind that there are few (if any) others who have quite the same amount of experience as I do on this subject! Oh, ok, so there may be a few others out there in online-land who do, but for now, I’d like to self-proclaim MY experience as a true expert on the subject… [click to continue…]

These really ARE a few of my favourite things!

I am often asked for “my picks”. And I often put together a list of must-haves for clients after we’ve worked together. Well, this time I thought I’d share with you some of my personal ‘MUST HAVES’! My favourite things, stores, brands or products.

This list does change as I discover more new and wonderful products, but I’m also a big believer in the old adage “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”! I have a list of items a mile long – the wardrobe staples that seem to work year in, year out for not only my own wardrobe but for so many of my clients. Ask my clients. They’ll tell you! Some of the pieces they spot in my wardrobe (and want to know where they too can purchase them) are 5 seasons old – much to their disappointment! But it just goes to show, classics really do give you more bang-for-your buck!

Being a tad time-poor at the moment (You guys really are keeping me very busy. Which is great! I’m not complaining at all) and fully aware that I’ve neglected my blog for way too long since my mega-stay in hospital late last year, I’ve decided that this post will serve as my lazy-woman’s way of keeping you up to date with some great things. I actually prepared the following list during that very same hospital stay (what can I say? I’m talented like that! And who knew an iPad could  be so useful?).

These really ARE a few of My_Favourite_Things  Check them out now, and take note! Every one has different tastes/needs but these really are (cue The Sound of Music – Julie Andrews singing) A Few Of My Favourite Things…

Smart Sale Shopping

December 21, 2011

OK. So here it is. I’ve teased you enough with all the preparations for the sales up to now.  So now, here’s how smart shoppers do it! Remember, a bargain isn’t a bargain if you never wear it! A $400 designer dress reduced to $30 is NOT (I repeat, not) a bargain if it’s something you [...]

Sale Preparation is Vital!

December 20, 2011

Just as you would prepare a surface when painting, gardening or  building  preparation is vital if you want the end result of your shopping trip to be everything you hoped it would be. Pearls of Wisdom?

October 25, 2011

I wrote this blog as a Guest Writer for A String of Pearls and thought I’d share it with my readers too… “Some say pearls are drops of moonlight that fell in to the ocean only to be swallowed by oysters. Some say pearls are tears of the gods. Some say are just lovely little [...]

Of Camel Toes and High Waisted Pants (HWP)

October 17, 2011

There. I said it. Camel toe. But the look I’m mainly talking about here is SSHWDS – or super-short high-waisted denim shorts (with or without rips; with or without camel-toe). The most disturbing part of this trend is that it generally comes with a side-serve of arse-cheek hanging out the back. I’m sure we’ve all [...]

Media Personality Style Case Studies

October 9, 2011

Love him. Love his work. But I’m afraid I rarely love his suiting choices Some days I watch TV and instead of focusing on what the presenter is saying I find myself distracted by their clothing choices. For media personalities, the key is simplicity and elegance. A touch of their personality can of course shine [...]

SO…What’s IN this Season? Spring ’11

October 8, 2011

Ever noticed how, at the beginning of a season, you see a new colour palette creeping into stores – and you cringe? Like right now? Bright reds, greens, almost fleuro yellows are fast taking over as winter’s dulls are being morphed into a circus of brights. You find yourself muttering to yourself as you pass [...]

Spring Has Sprung? Could’ve Fooled Me…

October 5, 2011

I believe (so far at least in theory, and because it’s what the latest fashion in-stores is telling me) that “Spring has Sprung”? I guess I also believe it because it’s October and we DID have a few lovely warm days a little while back. I guess therefore, that also means it’s time for a [...]
